Holland Conservation Commission
Minutes of Commission meeting held on September 25, 2012.
7:00 p.m. Chairperson called the meeting to order. The minutes of September 11, 2012 were read and accepted and will be distributed.
Present were: Nathan Gumlaw, Chairperson, Marcia Beal, Neal Byrne and Patricia Caron. Absent: Marianne Martone and James Wettlaufer.

We received from Thomas J. Sargent of 25 Hamilton Dr. his Recorded Certificate of Compliance for his project, DEP File #184-0269.
We received the Certified Letter containing the Enforcement Order that was sent to Mr. Robert Benoit of 90 May Brook Rd. “as being unclaimed and unable to forward”. Motion was made by Nathan Gumlaw that this Enforcement Letter should now be sent by regular mail. Seconded by Marcia Beal and approved by all.
We received a copy of a letter from Jennifer Fish, Director of the Service Forestry Program of the DCR (Dept. of Conservation and Recreation) a Stop Order sent to James LaMountain C/o Northeast Concepts, Inc. of 16 Lakeridge Dr. to stop harvesting timber.
We also received via e-mail a request from Laila Parker, Watershed Ecologist from the MA Dept. of Fish and Game, to install another stream gage, this time on May Brook in the area along May Brook Rd. where Opacum Land Trust land borders a stream. Motion was made by Nathan Gumlaw to approve the gage installation. Seconded by Neal Byrne and approved by all.
Nathan Gumlaw informed us that he has posted on 2 town hall bulletin boards a notice that we are looking to fill the position of a Conservation Agent.
7:30 p.m. Steve Wassersug of 1 Massaconic Trail showed us 2 pictures of 2 dead trees that he would like to remove. He was told that the trees can be removed but the roots must remain.
7:40 p.m. Neal Byrne of Lakeridge Dr. spoke of the necessity to repair/replace his deteriorating lakefront wall. He was informed that a Notice of Intent is required and forms were given.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
